Webinaire #29 – Open innovation: accelerating industrial innovation through collaboration

Open innovation: accelerating industrial innovation through collaboration

In a rapidly evolving economic environment, industrial companies must innovate faster and more efficiently. However, developing all capabilities in-house is often costly, time-consuming, and risky. In this context, open innovation is becoming a key strategic lever for staying competitive and accessing new opportunities.
This Dihnamic webinar, held on June 25, 2026, explored in depth the mechanisms of open innovation and cross-border collaboration for manufacturing companies. It highlighted the value of leveraging an ecosystem of stakeholders (technology centers, innovation hubs, European partners) to accelerate innovation projects, reduce risks, and access external expertise.

Delivered by experts from Dihnamic, Tecnalia, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Euskadi Navarre Euroregion, and ENGIE Ventures, this session provided key insights into how to structure an open innovation approach and turn it into a sustainable driver of growth. Speakers shared practical feedback, support mechanisms, and funding opportunities available to industrial companies, particularly in a cross-border context.

Key topics addressed during the webinar included:
  • What open innovation is and how it differs from traditional “closed” innovation
  • Why relying on external partners helps accelerate innovation and reduce risks
  • How to structure a sustainable and strategic open innovation approach within the company
  • What opportunities Digital Innovation Hubs and European programs offer to test and fund innovation
  • How to initiate cross-border collaborations and identify the right partners

Through real-world examples, particularly from the ENGIE group, this replay illustrates how open innovation enables companies to access innovative solutions more quickly, test new technologies, and build high-value partnerships. It also highlights the importance of structuring this approach over time, with a strategic vision aligned with business objectives.
